Delete your PayIQ account

The quickest way is in the app, and it takes a minute. If you can't open the app, send us a request and we'll do it for you, usually within 30 days.

In PayIQ

  1. Open the PayIQ app and sign in
  2. Tap your photo at the top of Home to open Settings
  3. Tap Privacy
  4. Tap Delete my account and enter your transaction PIN

In PayIQ Business

  1. Open PayIQ Business and sign in as the owner
  2. Go to Settings, then Business Profile
  3. Tap Close this business
  4. Type the business's name and enter your transaction PIN

Which account?

Before you delete

  • Withdraw any money left in your account, including savings.
  • Terminate any PayIQ virtual cards.
  • For a business: let payments in progress finish and settle any unpaid charges.

What we delete

  • Your name, email address, phone number and date of birth
  • Your BVN, NIN, verification selfie and profile photo
  • Your home address and the location saved with it
  • Your password, PINs and fingerprint sign-in
  • Saved beneficiaries, notifications and conversations with Ibra
  • For a business: everything that identifies the company, such as its name, registration and tax details

What we keep, and why

  • Records of transactions you made, kept for five years after your account closes, as the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act requires. They are no longer linked to your name.
  • Where the law requires a longer hold, we may be unable to delete an account until that period ends.
