Security
Serious about keeping your money safe.
We built PayIQ for real life in Nigeria, where phones get snatched and people look over your shoulder. Here is how we protect you.
Your money
- Your account is held with Safe Haven Microfinance Bank Limited, licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
- Every payment needs your transaction PIN or your fingerprint.
- Add an authenticator app for two-factor sign-in.
- Set your own daily and per-transfer limits, lower than your tier allows.
Your phone
- Under Attack mode: shake your phone once and PayIQ shows a decoy balance or a blank screen. Only you can bring it back, even after a restart.
- PayIQ locks itself when you step away. Open it with your PIN or fingerprint.
- Hide your balance until you tap it, and block screenshots.
- When you switch apps, PayIQ covers your screen so nobody sees it in the app switcher.
Your data
- We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Your BVN and NIN get an extra layer of encryption with keys we never store next to the data.
- Ibra’s voice recordings are deleted as soon as they are read.
- We never sell your data or use your transactions to target adverts.
For businesses
- Roles and permissions for every team member.
- Approval rules by amount, signing mandates and self-approval blocking.
- A full audit log of who did what, and when.
